Just thought I'd share this review I've had for the good job I do teaching people to drive. Makes the job so worth while. Love it.
I recently purchased an intensive course with Rob. Only having a couple of lessons previously, I wasn't sure what to expect going forward. Rob arrived, introduced himself and explained what we would be doing, then went over how the car worked and performed and ensured I knew how the controls worked and my previous experience.
As soon as we set off, I felt reassured that I was in safe hands, knowing Rob would guide me or prevent me from doing something wrong should there be a need too. The environment was relaxed and calm, often having general chit chat about day to day life, work etc, this all helped with the experience as before I knew it I'd already gone through 6 hours of manoeuvres, turns and roundabouts and it was home time again.
Thankfully, because of the length of the lessons we could allocate a little time to sit down and have a drink to discuss manoeuvres or tricky roundabout sections, Rob has many diagrams and an Ipad with various driving related apps which have Arial pictures off all the major roundabouts and roads within Stoke on Trent, enabling us to sit and draw driving lines to better understand how to approach and handle spiral roundabouts.
Towards the end of the course, we had covered most things a few times, Rob felt comfortable in my abilities to drive and mostly told me where to go and allowed me to drive, only telling me to change direction when there was a suitable place to practice manoeuvres, or some good corners or roads to manage speed and breaking better. As we had covered most things, Rob would ask me what I'd like to do when getting in the car, so that we could work on any weaknesses that I felt I personally had, and he would incorporate those into anything he believed I needed to work on.
Throughout the course, and more towards the end Rob took me towards our test centre, and sat pretending to be an examiner so we could do a mock test. He had a replica of the test sheet on his Ipad and would instruct me almost scarily word for word just like the examiner did. At the end of the test route, he would tally up my score and let me know if I'd passed and then we could take a look and see what we needed to improve on.
After roughly 24 hours or so of intensive lessons, with the help of Rob I passed my test first time, I'd quite happily recommend Rob and the company to anyone who is thinking of taking normal lessons or an intensive course. I enjoyed my time and it's been a great experience that unfortunately I'll never be repeating again.
I'd like to thank Rob for helping me achieve this huge goal in life.
